The CUT: On the north side of the landfill, the Inden Ocean will slowly fill up over the next three decades. On the south-side, we formulate the connection between the landfill and the town-centre, as a red spatial framework, as a gate, into which a topiary hedge slowly grows. For as long as the water is flooded.
The huge coal mine, its end and its future as a body of water are a turning point in the history of Inden. Not suddenly, it happened very slowly. Like the CUT. A horticultural work. Scenic waiting. It takes patience – as always.
