The Parliament in the open

Our contribution is one of ten equal-ranking awards. Congratulations to all the other prize-winners!

We duplicate and transform the Paulskirche Parliament and bring it to the open space. Moveable and open, it formulates an invitation to participation and community, to respectful debate, and to the ongoing change that we all can take into our own hands.

Many thanks to Markus Wagner and his team for the great collaboration. Thanks also to art historian Alexandra Apfelbaum for her valuable guest critique. Publications, lectures and podcasts by Prof. Dr. Martin Saar and, above all, Julian Nida-Rümelin were a great help in the research and design process. Inspired by his lecture “Democracy and Truth”, the words ‘Equal and Free’ are engraved on the parliament tables in the square. Greetings to Munich!
